James River Family Dentistry is pleased and proud to announce that our own Dr. Marci Guthrie has earned Fellowship status by the Academy of General Dentistry! This is a phenomenal accomplishment that has been earned by only 6,400 general dentists out of more than 40,000 worldwide. Dr. Guthrie is now officially a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and as such has proven that her dedication to continuing education and outstanding patient care is at the forefront of her dental practice.
The Academy of General Dentistry was founded in 1952 as the premier organization for general dentists. It’s mission is to provide support and inspiration to dental professionals who seek to expand their general knowledge with continuing education.
Fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry undergo a rigorous education and testing process that is designed to both challenge and inspire the applicants. Achieving a Fellowship means that Dr. Guthrie not only met the high standards of the Academy of General Dentistry, she also gained access to the considerable wealth of knowledge shared by other Fellows of the Academy. Meeting this challenge will benefit the patients of James River Family Dentistry as Dr. Guthrie uses her access to the newest technological advances to provide exemplary care to her patients.
