Marci S. Guthrie, D.D.S.

Dr. Marci Guthrie was born in Richmond and raised in Virginia Beach. She has practiced dentistry since 2003, since graduating with honors from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Dr. Guthrie continued her dental education completing an Advanced Education of General Dentistry Residency program in 2004. She associated as a general dentist in Chester prior to opening her own practice in Bon Air in 2008.

Dr. Guthrie believes in providing quality dental care by staying up to date with the latest continuing education courses, technological advances and materials in dentistry, as it is always changing. She makes every effort to make each patient experience positive. Dr. Guthrie has made the practice a “green” paperless office using all digital charts, digital radiography sensors and nomad devices that help limit radiation while helping with diagnosis and patient education. Intraoral cameras are also used so you can see what she sees and be a part of treatment planning while making educated decisions. She loves when patients get excited about dental treatment and want to be involved with their dental care.

As an advocate for helping the underprivileged and giving back to the community, Dr. Guthrie has attended mission trips to Jamaica and Belize and volunteered in several Mission of Mercy projects throughout the state of Virginia. She is Chairman of the annual Give Kids A Smile event and is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Richmond Dental Society and several local study clubs. She was voted one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry in 2015 by an national industry magazine, Dental Products Report and voted by her peers as one of Virginia’s Top Dentists by Virginia Living Magazine. In 2017, she was named a New Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

Dr. Guthrie has a true passion and love for dentistry. Her female touch and motivation for excellence makes her patients comfortable and relaxed.
